The Power of Words by Barbara Giamanco
28. November 2008 by Pat.
In a world so full of “me first” attitudes, it is no wonder we see so much turmoil and dysfunction in the world around us. The financial fiasco being played out on the national stage is evidence that something is seriously wrong. Day after day, words of disaster come at us from all directions — words that instill fear, panic, and negativity. News of foreclosures, more bank failures, bailouts totaling billions of dollars…it is no wonder the confidence level of people in our country is the lowest it has been in 28 years. That has to change, and it can if we commit ourselves to changing what “we think about” and “what we say” to ourselves and others!
Anybody living in Atlanta since Gustav hit the gulf coast has seen evidence of what happens when people get themselves into a place of panic and fear. Gasoline was in short supply here, and the result was closed stations and long lines at the pumps of those stations that had gas. We also began to see evidence of what happens to people’s behavior in times of stress. People trying to cut in line, fistfights and angry words at the pump, and a general attitude of I’m going to get mine first.
In Corporate America, we see people suffering from a severe affliction that I like to call the “corporate coma.” People aren’t walking through their work lives with joy and ease or a sense that they are valued for who they are and what they contribute. Instead, a type of malaise has settled over employees in companies everywhere. Today’s economic fears and negativity, encouraged all too frequently by the media, only adds the proliferation of “what’s the use” attitudes. The result is an apathetic, largely checked out workforce who up to go through the motions in order to take home the paycheck.
Those of us working outside those corporate halls are not immune to feeling invisible, unappreciated for our gifts and talents, or feeling just plain beaten down by the constant demands of business and life. The constant barrage of negative information coming at us can erode our confidence, if we let it.
Big change is sorely needed in our world, and it starts with each one of us. What’s happening nationally doesn’t have to be our world locally. We have all heard it said that we are what we think about. I’d like to take that a step further and say that we are also what we “talk about.” What we say — the words we use — largely determines our success or failure.
What are you saying right now? Are you complaining about what you don’t have or what you do have? Are you blaming the economy or others for what’s not working in your life right now? If you are, that’s an attitude that will get you nowhere and it never will. James Arthur Ray in his book “Harmonic Wealth” says, “Energy flows where attention goes.” Whether you realize it or not, our words are powerful, energetic forces that have the power to harm or heal. They can either empower or disappoint. They can lift up or drag down. Choose your words carefully. Ask yourself if they help you or harm you. Banish words that keep you and others rooted in mediocrity. Commit to yourself that you will not be one of those people who use “the economy” as an excuse for not accomplishing your goals. Have a positive mental attitude, plan what you want to accomplish, develop your skills, use positive words, and stay focused on the action you need to take to achieve the success you desire.
Finally, remember to maintain an “attitude of gratitude.” If you find yourself sinking into feelings of fear and worry, I encourage you to stop for a minute to take stock of all the gifts you have in your life right now, because I’m betting there are plenty of them if you just take a minute to look around. Create a gratitude list and refer to it often. Remaining grateful for what we have is a surefire way to keep us on a positive track. And remember to say “thank you” to others around you for a job well done, a business connection made, or a helping hand offered.
A positive mental attitude backed up by positive and inspiring language is one of the single biggest determinants of success. So shut out the noise. Ignore the negativity. Stay focused on your goals, speak positively to yourself and others, and watch your success soar!

Law of Attraction Won’t Work for You Without Clear Goals By Alex Liu
4. August 2008 by Pat.
I’ve been using the law of attraction for more than 6 months, but getting very poor results. I started to suspect the existence of the law of attraction. I start to worry what if everything is not true and I’m just wasting time. However, I finally discover the reason why it didn’t work for me.
There’s an equation to use the law of attraction for your life:
Thoughts + Emotions = Attraction
If you want to create attraction to get what you want, you need thoughts and emotions. And the access to clear thoughts and strong emotion is only with “clear goals”. I’m going to use financial goal as an example here:
Many people use “more money” as their goal to create attraction. It is a very unclear goal that can’t create any attraction. How much is more money? How your life would be with more money? How would you feel when you have more money?
You’ll get to realized you can’t create any clear thoughts in your mind during visualization process. You don’t feel excited and happy with that goal because. One dollar more is also ‘more money’, 1 million more is also ‘more money’. Thoughts and emotion are very weak and hard to attract anything that you want.
On the other hand, you have a clear goal such as $10,000 passive income per month, it will be totally different. When you start visualizing, you clearly know what life, house and car you’ll have. $10,000 passive income will really make most people get excited and I believe you’ll be excited too. Thoughts and emotions in this case are stronger.
Start creating a clear goal of what you want. Make it clear till you can write on a piece of paper in 1 or 2 sentences. When you did that, you’ll realize creating attraction is easy. You’ll get what you want easier and faster!

Law of Attraction-Eliminating Resistance by Sherri Hatch
17. July 2008 by Pat.
How do we eliminate resistance so we can become a match to what we want? One approach to dissolving resistance is to say yes to every step along the way of obtaining our goal.
The feeling of resistance may come on strong when we are working towards the achievement of bigger and larger goals but this feeling doesn’t have to last long. Remember that resistance is an indication that we are not moving towards our goal so it will be our job to allow this feeling to melt away as quick as possible.
Let’s take a look at a few situations when we experience resistance and how we can overcome it.
When We Don’t Know How
Does this ever happen to you? I set a goal for a specific dollar amount that I would like to earn and the first thought that comes to my mind is, but I don’t know how to do it. In addition to thinking this thought, I also feel a ton of resistance.
Sometimes I experience resistance because I don’t like that I don’t know how to make the dollar amount that I want. What happens when I resist these situations is that I keep myself from learning what it takes to reach my goal.
If you have been in a similar situation you may have noticed thoughts in your mind such as; I don’t know how to do it, so I can’t do it or I don’t know how, so it is impossible. Take a moment and notice how you live your life when you believe these thoughts. Do you move toward your goal when you believe these thoughts or away from it?
If you noticed that those thoughts keep you stagnant, it might be helpful to acknowledge that you don’t know how to do it. Then remind yourself that you are willing to learn what it takes to reach your goal. You might remind yourself by concentrating on the thought, Yes, I don’t know how to do this, but I am willing to do what it takes to learn it.
Notice how you feel when you acknowledge that you don’t know how but you are willing to learn. Do you feel empowered? Do you see yourself reaching your goal when you believe this thought? Where is the resistance when you tell yourself the truth?
When Things Becomes Difficult
Have you ever noticed that when you are working on a challenging goal that it without fail becomes difficult? Again, when we push the envelop in life, and challenge ourselves with higher and harder achievements, situation will become difficult.
Resistance in this situation is felt when we wish the situation or task was easier and then we tell ourselves that we can’t do it or that it can’t be done. We may notice thoughts in our minds like, this is too hard, I can’t do it or this is too hard, it’s impossible.
Don’t believe those thoughts for a second. Remember, we don’t have to believe all the thoughts in our head, especially when they hinder us from reaching our goals.
Remember, a goal is supposed to get difficult at times because you may have never done it before.
What you do instead is look the difficulty in the eye and remind yourself, yes, this is difficult but that doesn’t mean impossible. Take a second and discover how you work towards your goal when you believe this thought. What kinds of things to you do, how do you feel and what are the results of believing this thought?
When We Are Afraid
There are times when we reach for a goal and we get a little nervous or down right frightened. In my experience, I don’t like the feeling of fear in my body. This feeling is something that I, in truth, resist, but I also have realized that when I resist it, I hold myself back.
Don’t fight the feeling of fear, or try to make it go away. When we run from our feelings we condition ourselves to run from uncomfortable situations and thoughts. When we are giving life everything we’ve got, situations come up that frighten us but we can’t let this hold us back.
Say yes to what you are experiencing by acknowledging that yes, I am indeed experiencing fear. Then remind yourself that it is not frightening enough to hold you back from reaching your goals. Be vigilant with yourself if you have to. It may help by concentrating on the thought, yes, I am afraid, maybe even very afraid in this moment but not so afraid that I will allow it to hold me back from going for what I want.
Then become aware of how you might live your life this moment on if you were to continue to believe this thought. What happens to the resistance when you agree with what you are experiencing?
Hopefully this approach will help you decrease the resistance you experience so that you can reach the goals you set out for.

Skeptics and The Law of Attraction by Beth McCain
26. February 2008 by Pat.
You’ve heard them. You know the ones. “The Law of Attraction is damaging to an individual. This is a selfish belief that people made up so they can think of only themselves.”
Give me a break.
There are so many different subjects that a skeptic can pick on and just because they don’t believe what you do, they believe this somehow gives them the right to tell everyone their opinion as if it is the only fact. There are many things in this world that cannot be seen, cannot be touched but are as real as you and I.
So do we attack the skeptics for their beliefs? If you are a true believer in the Law of Attraction, you don’t. Because the Law of Attraction is about allowing others their own opinions and perceptions without judgment and stay in the world you are creating. Let the skeptic create his own world.
Whatever rings true for you is the path you should follow. If the Law of Attraction is it, then so be it. If another belief is it, then ditto. What I personally take issue with is condemning another person for their right to believe whatever rings true for them.
It’s interesting how quickly someone will believe another with a strong opinion and then pick it up as his or her own belief. You can listen to others that preach against or you can think about what you prefer to be and create your own you: the person without judgment on others, the person who minds his own business and takes care of his own world, the person who can think for himself no matter what anyone says and comes out with a ‘ring true’ belief for his self.
The Law of Attraction gives others hope. Hope that they can achieve whatever their heart desires no matter what state their life is in. You can become what you want. This isn’t selfish. This is taking initiative, this is being responsible for your life, this is being happy. What’s wrong with being grateful and thankful and have what you deserve in life?
So you are doing your best to stay in a good-feeling mood, keeping your eye on the prize, when you happen to pick up a little magazine with a huge article, “How the Belief in the Law of Attraction or Better Known These Days as the Secret is Hurting You.” You can’t help but read it and when you do, you almost feel hurt.
Make sure to stop right there.
Just realize that you are feeling hurt by someone who has not learned how to harness the Law of Attraction; someone who really doesn’t know anything about it. Why feel hurt when this person doesn’t really know what you know. Give him some slack and take some for yourself. If you want this opinion to enter your world, then let it. If you don’t want it to enter in your world, forget about it. Remember, it’s just another person trying their best to create their world and they want you to be a part of it. You can choose to be a part of their world or not. If you choose not, go on your merry way and get back to feeling good and attaining what you desire.
The skeptics will not be a part of your world unless you let them. That is what they are banking on. Not only that, a skeptic believes what they say is for your own good. What he doesn’t recognize is that you and only you know what ‘your own good’ is.
Don’t let opinion bring you down; you have a world to create and make wonderful.

Simply Successful by Cheryl Clausen
7. February 2008 by Pat.
92% of all success is achieved through systems. Systems provide the consistency and predictability required to get the results you want. At first glance you may think systems are for big business and that they don’t have any value for you as an individual or small business owner, but that just isn’t true. Highly successful people have systems for: time management, planning, and how they do their work. Systems are part of their strategy for success.
To succeed you need consistent and predictable results. Without that no one would want you as an employee, and no one would want to purchase your product or service. Think about McDonald’s success strategy. People don’t choose McDonald’s because they serve such wonderful food. People choose McDonald’s because they can count on consistently and predictably getting the same experience.
Systems help you to strengthen your persistence. When you don’t have systems that consistently and predictably produce a result you don’t know what to change, or how to change it when things aren’t working the way you want. Everything seems haphazard and unexplainable when you really could predict the results you’re getting if you clearly defined the actions you’re taking. When you include systems as part of your success strategy you’re more likely to persist to improve the system until you get it right to produce the results you want.
Successful people gain confidence through their systems. Increased confidence enhances your determination to continue on your path for success because you know exactly what you’re doing now and the results that’s producing. As you focus on the system and the desired end result your determination mounts because you aren’t taking short comings as personal defeats, but rather opportunities to improve your systems.
Systems thinking as a success strategy isn’t something that comes naturally to all people. So what do you do if you aren’t a systems thinker, or don’t know how to be a systems thinker. Look to others who are experts in the things you aren’t to help you to create systems that will make your path to success shorter.

Some Basic Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by Jen Atleson
8. January 2008 by Pat.
Most millionaires have sure fire financial plans that have helped them build their wealth over time. People who are very wealthy have figured out some of the basic secrets of the millionaire mind. One of those secrets they have in common beyond their personal wealth is the way they perceive money. Wealth creation, for most millionaires, begins with a healthy awareness of the money they spend and a respect for the money they earn and how it can best be used as a tool.
There are certainly no guarantees when it comes to becoming a millionaire. No magic formulas exist that allow people to quickly and easily create sizeable wealth. There are, however, some principles that are likely to reap better results when it comes to making more money. Those principles, or secrets of the millionaire mind, are widely known and practiced by most millionaires and those even wealthier.
A huge secret as to why most of us have never seen a million dollars in our bank accounts is simply because we spend too much money. One of the biggest secrets of the millionaire mind is that most millionaires begin to accumulate their wealth by living within their means. That translates into not always buying a new car, brand name designer fashion labels and eating at home most often. In fact, most millionaires aren’t simply recognizable on the street by their appearance. It would take a peek into most millionaires’ bank accounts to realize how rich they truly are.
Another to the secrets of the millionaire mind is that millionaires invest in items that yield good returns. Investing in vehicles with no or little return is one thing millionaires just won’t do too often. Clothing, electronics and household items depreciate in value just as soon as they are purchased. Most wealthy people divert their assets to items that appreciate in value, like real estate, investment accounts and even cultural pieces such as artwork. They have a good understanding that you have to use your own money as leverage. Make your money work for you!
Most people, the wealthy included, do not have a lot of knowledge about where we should put our money. The biggest of the secrets of the millionaire mind here, is that many millionaires have an ongoing relationship with people they trust such as financial advisors, money managers, or investment bankers, who assist them with creating a solid financial plan. Not having a financial plan for the future creates an apathetic viewpoint towards saving and properly managing money. If you don’t know what you’re saving for, you’re more likely to overspend.
Finally, another one of the secrets of the millionaire mind is to avoid being in personal debt. When money is owed, and has to be paid back, that money isn’t available to be saved or invested at all. So essentially, any money that is owed is money lost. It’s important not to have too many credit cards, and to only rely on them in an emergency. Credit cards shouldn’t be used as a means to pay for everyday items, but as a last resort.
At the end of the day, all of us have the ability to become a millionaire. A healthy view of money, a fiscally responsible approach to money, and an awareness that action needs to be taken to achieve wealth are a solid foundation to true wealth creation. Only by unlocking the secrets of the millionaire mind can wealth creation begin.
